Nadeau, a native of Madawaska, Maine, and a 1997 graduate of Madawaska High School, attended Bowdoin College, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, in history, magna cum laude, in 2001. Following college, Tina attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, pursuing graduate studies in African history. For three years following her time at Northwestern, Tina participated in the Teach for America program, teaching high school English at a public high school in Greenville, Mississippi.
